Lieberman talks CU issues with House staffers

18157113_10155224582584042_5624882250838233153_nMichael Lieberman, New York Credit Union Association VP of governmental affairs, recently traveled to Washington, D.C., to discuss credit union legislative issues with the offices of two federal lawmakers.

Last week, Lieberman met with the legislative staff from the offices of Reps. Tom Suozzi (D-3) and Sean Patrick Maloney (D-18).

“With new staffers taking over the financial services portfolios in each office, this was an opportunity to educate them on the credit union system and introduce them to the New York Credit Union Association,” said Lieberman. “In addition to a primer on credit unions, we discussed regulatory relief and the importance of preserving our tax exempt status.”
